RE: The artist formerly known as bigmanupstairs
I was going to buy crackdown 2 today when in Cork, but it was 15 euro. I'll buy it from play.com instead in a few days.

You getting it kooj?

Play.com not really crap with delivery to Republic of Ireland?

Getting anything delivered from U.K to south of Ireland is usually a pain. It's basically no mans land.

I should point out that the campaign in Crackdown 2 is even worse than the first game. It really is boring as hell.

Seriously? Do they post to NI with no problems? If so, what's the idea behind being odd with southern Ireland?

This breaks my plan, guy I have to fork out more for this game.

Also as Kooj said, I don't mind the campaign being boring, I'll get it just to mess about and kill Kooj and yourself if it's possible to kill each other.

If not, another one of my plans has been broken.

N.I is United Kingdom. Most companies treat it no different than delivering it down the road.

For Republic of Ireland, parcels usually take longer and cost more to deliver.

RE: The artist formerly known as bigmanupstairs
well i assume, the cost of postage gets subsided to not fuck over NI but, when it goes from say ipswich ti say belfast, then theres like a hand over to ROI's postage system and they need their slice of cash for the package, and then i assume ROI mail has to process the shit then deal with there own internal channels etc

it may be the same landmass and we refer to both as "Irish" it is a different country, probably quick to send something 400 miles across france, than if you live near the german border and wanna send it 50 mile over

Postal service in the south is crap too. Might as well use a carrier pidgeon.

Just to confirm this, I did know N.I was apart of the UK. I was just thinking of them being pissy about posting over a sea, so if to N.I then why not southern?

I've had stuff posted to me from england, it costs about 2-3 quid. That price range is hardly enough to just flat out not offer postage to ROI.

Again I'm aware it's a different country, I just find the lack of willing to post to the south a bit much, when they will post oversea to the north.
---------

When I've had things posted from England, price was about 2-3 quid, took about 3-4 days to get here.

I guess my point is, play.com are arse.

I never said they wouldn't post to the Republic, just that it would take longer.

As for postage cost difference for N.I or R.O.I, two different postage companies have to deal with it for a start.

I don't mind waiting longer for it, I thought you meant they just didn't post here at all. Which I thought was odd.

Laser card, I'd have to join Ulster bank which isn't the one nearest to us so I haven't done that yet.

AIB gave a laser card, which is useless when trying to buy things online.

Laser card is useless in a lot of places. I know some shops in the north won't even accept it.

You can always ring up a bank to setup an account. Don't even need to go near the place.

I could do that, but from my experience with AIB I'd probably need to hand them a lot of different things, including rent agreement, passport, etc. Couldn't do it on the phone. But I suppose I could start the process and send the stuff through post? I'm not sure.

Somehow the Irish are suspicious of me, like "you're staying in Ireland?" - "yes" - "WHY!?".

Hence some things being a pain. I want a gun licence, which is going to be fun trying to get.

Paypal don't allow laser cards, so I'm still in the same boat with that.

Paypal is where you use a card to set it up, using that card to top up the paypal account? If so, yeah, they don't do laser cards.

Well you can register your bank account which has the laser card with Paypal. They'll just take the funds straight out of your account then.

Self voting. If only one person votes and give it 5 stars then it's five stars. I've voted one and it's shot down Tongue
