Bad timing. I'm going to have to download those preview things so I can actually play tonight.

FYI guys, I think I've sorted my PVR freezing problems, been testing my theory tonight and seems to record fine every time, not had a single crash! So pleased as I didn't want to have wasted all this money Big Grin

PVR was just shy of £80 which I was lucky to get at that price, band new they are almost double that and on ebay they go for more. I'm pleased with it though and wanted one for ages, just need to start putting it to good use.

And that offer is still on, not sure for how long but you can get it HERE. If I wasn't already with Surpass I would give this a try, can't get it much cheaper than this and with a domain name.

What is the quality of video like when not compressed? Full HD resolution video?

I figure the cheap hosting will allow me to work on a personal project and test out a few ideas. I don't need the domain but might register one for the purpose of an online personal portfolio of my work, keep it locked down with login details and put it on my CV.

That video of my greefing Kooj was straight out of the box 720p, I did nothing to it and I think it looks smart. Takes up a lot of drive space but I bought an extra 1TB drive when I built my PC just for media and the like so I'm sorted for now. There are PCI-E versions of these things which can do 1080p but who really wants to watch a 5min 1080p YouTube video? I wouldn't have been able to afford one of those anyway and this works a treat so no complaints here (apart from when it wasn't working but that was more my fault that it's).

720p is all you really need for video as like you said, very few people would watch a 1020p video on Youtube.

I remember back in the old TER days I used a cheap USB/TV thing with my computer. Video quality was terrible but back then it didn't look too bad on the old Xbox.

Yeah, I've had those things, got an Easycap which connects via composite but the thing is buggy and horrible. Plus you need to play via your monitor or degrade the signal even more and split it. The beauty of the HD PVR is it has a passthrough so I can record in HD and also play on my TV in HD aswell. Nothing worse than playing in SD these days! Tongue

How long was that Kooj Greefing video? 2mins? That was about 800mb I think but I'll double check later. It's set to record at 8mbps but can do 13mbps, I can't tell the difference and once it's gone into Youtube it's even less obvious. 1TB might not last all that long in the grand scheme of things Tongue

True, I can't see me getting MW3 either, bought WaW and MW2 but I've given up on them now, just the same games on new maps to me... that and I'm not all that great at them. Although I enjoyed MW1 a lot and have fond memories of playing it.

Probably no chance. Parents work during the day and I don't plan to be here much longer.

It would be unfair to keep a dog chained outside or locked up when no one is here.

With the dog that died, there was always someone at home which meant she could run around freely outside with no issues.

You're right, the games change only slightly, for me though I have family who love playing the game.

I recently got them into xbox live and Black Ops being the first time to experience online play has taken them in. Much like Halo 2 did with me.

It's not the only reason I'm getting MW3, I do enjoy the series and I'll always have those guys to play with. I'm also pretty good at them Tongue

GoW3 is out in less than 3 weeks now (20th) and I would like to get it so hopefully that'll be the game to really test my HDPVR and video editing skills. Anyone know if it has a replay function in game like Black Ops and Halo?
